Founded in 1981, the Association Haïtiano-Canado-Québécoise d’Aide aux Démunis is a non-profit organization that has been a driving force in the community in Saint-Léonard, Quebec, for decades. Dedicated to supporting all generations, it offers seasonal employment, recreational activities for seniors, catering services, and various well-known local festivals. By engaging in innovative projects like Nouveaux Horizons, the association remains a vital pillar of the community, shaping a history rich in solidarity and positive contributions to the life of the community.
Our mission
Simple mission: supporting all generations, regardless of cultural background. From the Summer Career Project to regular food initiatives, we are an integral part of the daily life of Saint-Léonard. Committed to diversity, we actively participate in local celebrations and collaborate with other organizations for community well-being. Our mission is rooted in supporting and committing to those in need. We intervene through various activities, reaching all generations, from youth to seniors, and families of all cultural backgrounds. In addition to actively participating in Saint-Léonard gatherings, including the Citizen's Day celebration, we collaborate with other local associations to contribute to the well-being of every citizen of Saint-Léonard.
We aspire to create an inclusive and diverse space where every citizen, regardless of their background or circumstances, feels valued, respected, and supported. Our Programs
Collective Kitchen
Every 3rd Friday of the month, participate in our Collective Kitchen, a friendly moment of culinary sharing, bringing the community together around shared delicacies.
Food Assistance
We provide vital support to families through our weekly emergency food program, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Support For Newcomers
Facilitating the transition, our support program helps newcomers in their job search, promoting a harmonious integration.

Mrs. Félicidades Jacques
Founder and Director General
Our passionate guide, Mrs. Félicidades Jacques, at 96 years old, is the founder and Executive Director. A retired licensed practical nurse, she brings her wisdom and unwavering dedication to our organization's mission.
Mr. Marc Hérold Saint-Hillien
Board President
Passionate about the health sector, a master's candidate in health and social services management, and working as a care activities coordinator, Mr. Saint-Hillien is assuming the role of President for his second term. He brings his enlightened leadership and experience in the health system to guide our organization towards community health and well-being initiatives.
Ms. Rose Merlie Henry
Vice-President
Ms. Henry brings a young and dynamic perspective as Vice-President. Her enthusiasm helps to stimulate innovation within the board of directors.
Ms. Quarmouch Diaa
Secretrary
Ms. Diaa, a secretarial studies student, holds the position of Secretary. Her youth and dynamism bring positive energy to our team, contributing to precise administrative management.
Mr. Caraballo Suarez Elpidio
Business Administrator
With his expertise in business administration, Mr. Suarez plays a key role in operational management, contributing to the efficiency of our daily activities.
Ms. Paulette Passe
Secretairy
A retired family caregiver in Canada and a teacher in Haiti, Ms. Passe brings her experience and versatility to the role of Secretary, playing an essential role in coordinating administrative activities.
Ms. Jean Charles Jeanne Marie
Treasurer
Ms. Jeanne Marie, who is also the training beneficiary's assistant, holds the position of Treasurer. Her expertise in the health field and her commitment strengthen our ability to manage financial resources diligently.
Mr. Guy-Marie Joseph
MA Advisor
An entrepreneur and holder of a master's degree in psychology from McGill University, Mr. Joseph brings diverse expertise as an advisor, offering informed advice to strengthen our community impact.
